Superhero Unfolding

Superhero Unfolding (SU) is the underlying concept for an upcoming series of public art projects using the iconography of popular culture. Superheroes, to be precise. It is the intention of SU to co-opt the brand of the superhero. To use its symbols and imagery as a means to inspire joy, creativity and discovery. The Superhero Unfolding project views every human being as a unique occurrence, connected to one another emotionally/energetically through common, shared or imagined experiences. The goal of this project is provide a venue for imagination, inspiration, connection, warmth and humor to be expressed. And, ultimately, to awaken the superhero within!

Spread Superhero Unfolding!
Superhero Unfolding is an original home grown product of Petaluma! Like the corona virus, it needs your help spread out into the community.
You can help by printing out a coloring page and placing it in your window OR permitting SweetFrau to install a sign on your lawn. SweetFrau will take care of the sign materials and installation, AND stay at least six feet away from you! She wants to spread the love and still keep everybody healthy! :)

Create Your Own Superhero!
Follow the link above to activities and resources on the Superhero Unfolding website which may help you to discover or design your own original superhero.
Hang your finished drawings in your front window to inspire others! Send them using the submission form to be added to the Superhero Unfolding Online Gallery! Or, you can post them on the Superhero Unfolding facebook page! FYI-This project is family friendly so please keep this in mind when posting your drawings within the domain of this project. |
Host an Open Air Gallery!The open air gallery is an opportunity to involve organizations or individuals with large street facing properties in displaying homegrown superhero art.
The idea is to invite neighbors to hang a drawing of their own superhero for passersby to see. Sort of a neighborhood wash line outdoor art gallery intended to bring us together while still maintaining social distancing requirements. Please email to discuss the possibility of hosting an open air gallery. Or, if you have any ideas or suggestions for outdoor galleries.
