“I think the role of the artist is, is to take whatever it is they believe in
and put it out there so the public can see it.” ~ David “Lebo” Le Batard |
The HUman elementThe HUman element is a colorful celebration of the commonality and diversity present in our community. This piece contains photos of local residents, taken during an event in Courthouse Square in October, and images of participants from other venues. The project focuses on the qualities of our (human) nature which support life, provide joy and foster connection. This conceptual design amalgamates the periodic table of elements, which comprise life as we know it, with positive traits/aspects of being human, which sustain it.

“A work of art is good if it has arisen out of necessity.
That is the only way one can judge it.” - Rainer Maria Rilke |
VOTE with LOVE
These signs were initially designed as stickers.
They were turned into 2 ft painted panels for posting in a number of locations around town, including the Petaluma Historical Library &Museum. The signs are based on personal observations using pop culture iconography. Often, inspired by great thinkers and artists. They were created to foster the emergence of a new paradigm. |
Petaluma Art Chicks

“There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and there is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique, and if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium; and be lost. The world will not have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is, not how it compares with other expression. It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open. You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work. You have to keep open and aware directly to the urges that motivate you. Keep the channel open.”
- Martha Graham
